    The day before Philip Roth died this book appeared on my office's giveaway shelf and I snagged it I don't think this coincidence has any cosmic significance but it sure was convenientI think Roth has fallen out of favor a bit among my peers even in his NYT obituary he was linked so emphatically to Updike and Be
