If this was available in a print format not electronic I might have rounded up to 5 stars But this type of book a reference book first and foremost is not well suited to a kindle and unfortunately the experience suffered for the medium Jim Davidson has done an amazing job of gathering several hundred pages worth of details trivia and almost long forgotten tidbits about the Perry Mason show While there is some information regarding the books movies and later television attempts the 1957 1966 tv show makes up the bulk of the material Which makes sense especially if you read the Davidson s intro The book is well researched not badly written and would be of interest to anyone interested in Perry Mason history of television or television production processes It s fascinating However I of course have a few minor critiues Formatting As mentioned above this should not be a kindle book It would be amazing as a coffee table reference guide one you could easily navigate as you watch an old episode or 10 of the series Additionally within the content Davidson does an admirable job of cross referencing to other episodes but he uses the episode number instead of the name so it is not particularly helpful beyond general early mid late placements in the timeline I wish Davidson would have created a separate section for the music facts for each episode instead of dumping it into the Notes just as he does do with cars they are separated from the general triviafacts I suggest this mostly because I do not care about the music most of the time so it got very annoying to have to wade through it to see if there were any personally interesting details intermixed or after Content While generally very good and reasonably neutral Davidson and I clearly do not always agree on what constitutes the best or the worst episodes plots or acting And as a referencetrivia guide I would have preferred neutrality from the author or even a separate section outside of Notes where he mini reviewed the episode As is his opinion is presented as fact and even when I agree it is an irritating jolt outside of the info focused tone of the book I know it always sounds like I m complaining And I am But that should not take away from how amazing this compendium is or how thoroughly impressed I am with Jim Davidson s research and organization I just wish it came in paper form And that the Notes sections was broken up a bit there were at least a few tidbits that I think may have been wrong or partially wrong but because it is in Kindle form I can t easily go back and find them to either confirm or refute I could definitely be the one who is wrong but because of the medium I cannot easily check and may never know for sure But I Survived embodied by actor Raymond Burr is an American cultural icon His Kodak and the Lens of Nostalgia enjoyed by generations of fans through bo.
