Our protagonists are older, disconnected from each other, and questioning whether or not to be together again. This installment in the s

The tone of this story is far grimmer than that of your average Gotrek and Felix tale. This is understandable, because these are the End Times—of which we are constantly reminded. The words “End Times” are even capitalized, in case we missed it. The humor found in the earliest Gotrek & Felix stories is notably absent. This is a dour affair, with most of comic relief provided by Snorri Nosebiter.

So many complaints it's hard to know where to start. Ending SUCKS if you were a Gotrek fan. Writing was confusing. Man I miss William King. Did I say the ending was terrible because it was. I will read the last book just because I need closure. I've been reading about these two for over a decade. It should have ended with Nathan Long, because this was just garbage, especially the ending. Was that the third time I said it? :)

The end of an era, what a pity as a huge G&F and GW fan I am really disappointed that my favorite duo are being forced into a rushed

Still no William King, but a far better attempt that the previous stand alone books. The descriptive text is again a little to much IMO and takes the shine away from the story. I don't understand the other reviewer concern for the flashbacks, there isn't really that many and the majority concern Snorri regaining his memory

Guymer's doesn't seem to take into account the personalities of the characters who we've all followed for many years resulting in a most dreary and confusing book. I persevered in the hope that it would get better but it didn't. Guymer's writing style pales into insignificance against the books penned by King and Long, ei

Some good ideas but not as good as earlier books by King and Long. Writing is simply not as good, and some sentences don't actually make sense.
But the many battle scenes make the book worthwhile.
